- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★A week ago I did a trip on the Kicking Horse River and I had a blast. They have a very nice basecamp right at the river. Where you can camp as well!! For free!!! :O We started off with a safety talk and explanation on what to do and when. Then we got a lovely BBQ, not just burgers but steaks (or chicken or veggie). With a green salad, fruit and garlic bread. Then we all got dressed with wetsuits, rivershoes, splashjackets and helmets. And then in the rafts. At first I was a bit nervous but after a while I realized that our guide knew what she was doing. After the trip we got picked up by the bus and brought back to the basecamp. It was a very exciting adrenaline pumping trip. I wish I booked the ultimate trip instead of the shorter classic trip.By Marlies de Boer, January 26, 2017
